Pacific Express Airlines Pilot Wing (3 1/4")

Chico, CA 1981-1984

Pacific Express was started as an affiliate of WestAir Commuter and flew their first flight on January 27, 1982. Profits were low as they were in competion with PSA as well as other airlines. In order to bolster finances the company spun off WestAir in 1983 but in the long run, they only had one month where they made a profit. Pacific Express filed for bankruptcy on February 2, 1984 and suspended operation at that time. They did fly a few charters for a brief time but most of their network was assumed by PSA.
